Frequently asked questions

What can I expect at my first consultation.

During the first consultation, our acupuncturist will take an anamnesis, asking questions about your health problems. After that, the acupuncturist will make a pulse and tongue diagnosis. Once the diagnosis has been established, the acupuncturist can draw up a personalised treatment plan. After the treatment project has been discussed, the acupuncture treatment can begin. The initial consultation will take about 15 minutes and the acupuncture treatment 40 minutes.

How many treatments do I need?

We cannot yet determine how many treatments you will need, as each treatment plan is personalised. Only after the first consultation can an estimate be made. Most patients need a treatment plan of 10-12 acupuncture sessions.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture causes virtually no pain. Most patients describe a dull, slightly painful sensation when the needle is inserted.

Does acupuncture really work?

According to the WHO (World Health Organisation), acupuncture is effective for a lot of health problems. In the last 20 years, a lot of research has been done on acupuncture, more than 13,000 studies in 60 countries. From all these studies, it can be concluded that acupuncture definitely works.

Is acupuncture safe?

Acupuncture is definitely safe. We use disinfected acupuncture needles made of stainless steel; they will be disinfected again before treatment.

Why is my health insurer not listed?

Not all health insurers reimburse Chinese medicine. We advise you to contact your health insurance company.
